In 2015, a Carlsbad High School student named Mikey observed that many of our local military men and women had great difficulty meeting daily needs due to lack of personal transportation.  "I noticed this was especially true for military families during times of deployment and for disabled veterans.  This inspired me to create Rides For Heroes, a non-profit charitable organization."

 

Rides for Heroes strives to honor the brave men and women who serve by providing vehicles, free of charge, to deserving active duty enlisted or honorably discharged veterans who have demonstrated a critical need for reliable transportation.  

 

It is an unfortunate reality that many who serve in the Armed Forces face enormous financial challenges upon returning home.  This can be overwhelming for them and their families. Rides For Heroes aims to address one aspect of these challenges so that navigating daily life back in the States can be met with dignity and comfort. Providing reliable transportation is a critical part of veterans' sense of independence and allows for the physical and emotional reintegration into civilian life.  Rides For Heroes hopes to make a difference, one hero at a time.
